Thanks for playing. We actually wanted to add some sort of dynamic zombie spawning to the game to make it easier or harder depending on how well you were doing but other mechanics and time restraints got in the way. Goes to show how important difficulty adjustments are. As for the firing delay issue, the game does have a "reload" mechanic after two shots shown by the shells in the bottom corner. Though, to be honest, a sound effect would probably make that clearer. If that wasn't the issue could you let us know?

The three of us that worked on the game are mainly programmers so the user experience is something we're still fresh on so your comments are very needed and welcome. If you want to reply, was there anything on the "How to Play" page that you might add or change to make the game clearer?

Thanks for giving the game a shot and leaving us some constructive feedback. Balancing was something we tried doing later in the process but as you mentioned a few more settings for difficulty would make a big difference for the better.
